Electronics
Green Guy Recycling accepts all kinds of electronics in our drop-off center. Common examples include computers, DVD players, stereos, cell phones, tablets, and printers. Certain electronics can even be purchased during business hours, and some electronics can be recycled for a fee.
TVs and
monitors
All TVs and monitors are accepted for a $0.35/lb fee. The fee for one TV and two monitors may be waived per calendar year for San Marcos residents who pay for recycling services through their City of San Marcos Utility Bill. This bill must reflect the “Recycle Center Services” charge and be presented during our hours of operation.
Sell your Electronic Scrap
Green Guy can purchase some of your electronics in quantities over 150 pounds. Some of the items we purchase include:
- Computers, servers, laptops
- Internal PC components
- Motherboards, processors, PC cards, disc drives, power supplies, RAM, and hard drives
- UPS systems
- Networking equipment
- Modems, routers, and network switches
- Cell phones and tablets
*The above items are acceptable in any condition, regardless of damage or disrepair.
Certain fees are waived for San Marcos residential trash and recycling customers. These fees are limited to 5 passenger tires, 1 television, 2 computer monitors, 2 freon bearing appliances, and 2 items either mattresses or box springs per calendar year. A City of San Marcos Utility Bill that reflects the “Recycle Center Services” must be presented to staff during our hours of operation, and must be in the name of the individual presenting material for recycling.
