GGR takes pride in providing honest weights and competitive prices. All scale weights are displayed to the customer throughout the transaction and are recorded on an itemized receipt.

Low Grade Wire
Perfectly clean, pure, bright and shiny copper electrical wire with no insulation. Individual strands must be at least the diameter of a standard paper clip. Excludes hard-drawn ground wire.
Clean copper pipe and tubing with no tin or solder which has not been used in an oil-bearing application. Also includes electrical wire that would normally qualify as bare bright, but is discolored, oxidized, or tarnished. Includes solid copper with no tin, such as busbar, billets, and thick plates.
Copper tubing from oil-bearing applications, such as air-conditioning. May include soldered and tinned pipe and tubing, stripped wire with strands smaller than a standard paper clip, which may be tinned as well, tin coated solids, and copper sheets.
Insulated copper electrical wire which upon stripping will recover at least 80-90% bare bright wire. Individual strands must be at least the diameter of a standard paper clip. Wire must be presented in a manner that will untangle easily. Must be larger than 6 AWG. Excludes tin-coated wire.
Industry specific, highly specialized wires from the telecommunications sector. Acceptable in any condition, the highest value is awarded to cables without stainless, plastic, or other contamination, and to loads that are pre-sorted by type and size. Hybrid cables containing a fiber optic pair are acceptable.
Insulated copper electrical wire bearing between 65-79% copper. Most THHN electrician's wire qualifies. Can be stranded or not. Must be bigger than 18 AWG. Includes some well-pump wire and romex. Excludes older cloth insulated romex.
Insulated copper electrical wire bearing between 49-64% copper. Wire is flexible and does not hold its shape when bent. Includes some extension cords, some power cords, ethernet cables, and communication wire.
Insulated copper electrical wire bearing between 35-50% copper. Includes most extension cords and wiring harnesses.

Iron that is at least 1/4" thick and is longer than 3 ft. Includes cast iron, vehicle motors (engine blocks), and structural steel, such as I-beams. There is a minimum of 150 lbs of material in order to receive payment for unprepared iron.

Clean, dry aluminum beverage containers, preferably delivered in large plastic bags with no other debris or contamination. Cans are not required to be crushed, but this does help remove liquids. There is no increased value to the tabs removed from Aluminum Cans.
Cans delivered in anything but large plastic bags may be purchased at reduced pricing. This includes grocery store bags, or the use of bags within bags.
Clean aluminum foil, pie plates, or other single use aluminum cooking products. Must be free of food debris.
Materials consisting of at least 50% aluminum weight, with the remainder composed of steel. Some plastic contamination is allowable.
Materials consisting of at least 80% aluminum weight, with the remainder composed of steel or other contamination, including other non-ferrous metals.
Sheets of aluminum, such as siding, tubing, or gutters, that are free of all contamination such as caulk or screws.
Sheet aluminum with less than 10% contamination from steel, such as screws or nails.
Various unsorted grades of aluminum may be purchased together as Mixed Aluminum. As there is different pricing for each grade of aluminum, an on-site evaluation will determine the value of these mixed loads.
Clean 6063 aluminum that was manufactured through an extruding process. Includes window and door frames that were not installed and therefore have no nails, screws, caulk or glue. Absolutely no contamination is allowed in this grade.
Raw, unpainted Aluminum Extrusions, free of any contamination.
Aluminum extrusion, such as window or door frames, that may contain a small amount of contamination from nails, screws, caulk or glue, not to exceed 5% contamination by weight.
Clean 6061 aluminum plates or extrusions that are at least 1/4" thick. Must be raw, unpainted, and free of any contamination.
Clean molded aluminum. Includes clean BBQ hoods, cookware, and automotive parts. Must be free of all contamination.
Cast Aluminum that may contain up to 10% contamination from steel.
Clean molded aluminum containing a higher percentage of zinc than traditional Cast. Includes some auto parts, faucet fixtures, lamp fixtures, and ceiling fan parts. Die Cast is commonly found in decorative items. Must be free of any contamination.
Insulated aluminum wire (Neoprene) and bare, stranded aluminum wire with a steel wire in the center (ACSR). These two materials do not need to be separated and can be sold together.
Clean, stripped, aluminum wire that is free from any plastic, rubber, steel, or other contamination. No ACSR wire is acceptable.
Clean, unplated aluminum wheels that are free of all steel lug inserts, clip on or stick on wheel weights, valve stems, tires, plastic covers, and other contamination.
Chrome plated aluminum wheels that are free of all steel lug inserts, clip on or stick on wheel weights, valve stems, tires, and other contamination.
Aluminum wheels that may contain steel lug inserts, clip on or stick on wheel weights, and valve stems. Tires are not permitted.

Aluminum wheels, chrome plated or not, with a complete or partial tire still attached.
Heavy structural aluminum tube used to reinforce automotive bumpers. Pricing may vary dependent on non-aluminum contamination.
Aluminum automotive transmissions without torque converter. Excess steel must be removed, and all fluid must be drained.
Also known as "aluminum shavings." A byproduct of machine cutting aluminum, must be free of excess oil or cutting fluid, steel or other metals, and contaminants such as plastic or trash.

Clean yellow brass castings, rolled brass, rod brass, tubing and plated brass. Nickel plated brass is accepted in this grade. This includes faucets, spigots, plumbing, A/C applications, decorative brass, and EDM wire. Must be free of all other metals, solder joints, plastic, rubber, or debris.
Yellow brass with a small amount of contaminants. Includes plumbing fixtures, handles, nozzles, and water spigots.
Spent brass shell casings. Absolutely no live, primers, or dummy ammunition accepted. Excludes steel or aluminum casings. Must be free of dirt and tumbling media.
An alloy of copper, zinc, and tin. The copper percentage must be at least 80%. Includes water meters of various brands (excluding "HPM") and some industrial electrical brass. Absolutely no contaminants are allowed in this grade.
Also known as "brass shavings". Consists of the excess from machine cut brass that is free of oil, steel and other metals.

Clean 304 stainless steel, used mostly in medical, restaurant, and production equipment. This is the most common grade of stainless steel. Does not rust and is mostly non-magnetic. Includes stainless steel sinks and cookware that are free of contaminants.
Specialized alloy of stainless that contains a higher percentage of nickel. Material must be marked or stamped with manufacturer's proof of alloy.
304 or 316 stainless steel which may contain up to 10% ferrous contamination.
Consists of stainless steel, but allows for small percentages of plastic and contaminants. Must be at least 50% stainless steel.

A/C refrigeration compressor units. Must be drained of oil and fluids.
Consists of whole motors without heavy steel attachments (pumps, bases, brakes, loose iron etc.) Typically pulled from washers, dryers, cordless drills, and A/C and ceiling fan motors. GGR accepts starters, alternators, oversized electric motors, low grade electric motors, and Al. wound electric motors.
Found in light fixtures. Contain small amounts of copper. Ballasts are priced near scrap steel, but must be brought in separately to verify that they do not contain PCBs. Electronic ballasts are a separate commodity.
Transformers consist of a steel core with aluminum or copper windings. Keep copper, aluminum, or mixed transformers separate to get the best price.
Heat dissipating blocks, often found in electronics, that may be constructed of aluminum, copper, or some combination of both metals. All steel, adhesives, or other contaminants must be removed for the highest possible pricing.

Lead is soft, pliable, non-magnetic and heavy. Includes fishing weights, lead plumbing pipes, sheets from roofing or medical applications, and some stick-on wheel weights. Must be free from other contaminants and steel.
Batteries from vehicles, riding lawn mowers, motorcycles, and battery back ups. Batteries over 110 lbs will be classified as industrial batteries.
Lead Acid Batteries which weigh more than 110 lbs each.
Lead Acid Batteries contained within a steel casement, such as those found on some electric forklifts.
